Great things are happening at Ark Putney
Ark Putney is proud to unveil its new logo, the latest step in our multi million pound transformation due for completion ready for the start of the new school year.
The new logo is based on entries from a student design competition. The competition entries overwhelmingly showed a desire to reflect the school’s long history. The elephant in the badge is a reference to the former Elliot school’s logo.
Students enjoyed the opportunity to be involved in creating the new logo, Theo Pulit in year 8 said “It’s so exciting to see elements of my design in the final logo. It feels like something I can really be proud of.”
The new logo comes as staff and pupils alike are getting ready to enjoy the school's state of the art new facilities. The £30 million renovation project has almost come to an end, the scaffolding has come down and we are eager to say goodbye to the temporary accommodation and move into our bright and spacious new classrooms.
Ark Putney is already enjoying the benefits of our new sports hall, the first part of the renovations to be completed and ready for use. The sports hall includes a state of the art dance studio, shower and locker areas and facilities for trampolining, cricket, netball, basketball, football and indoor athletics.
Everyone is looking forward to what will await them in September. Miss Downey, Principal, said: “It has been a long journey but we are really excited for the project to be completed. We will finally have an environment that we can be proud of and that will inspire students. The new facilities will provide an excellent teaching and learning environment for our whole community.”
