Early closures for open evening on Monday 23rd September

9 September 2019

Dear parents/carers

Early closures for open evening on Monday 23rd September

On Monday 23 September we will be holding our Open Evening event.  To give staff an opportunity to prepare and get displays ready, we will be closing the school early on Friday 20 and Monday 23 September.

The school day will finish at 12.30pm on both days.

Students will be encouraged to leave the site immediately, although there will be a full lunch offer available on both days.  Free school meals allowances will be available.

If your child has been selected to help at the Open Evening on Monday 23 September please ensure you have completed and returned the permission slip to the relevant department.  The evening will finish at 8.00pm.

Finally, all students now leave from Pullman Gardens as the exit is larger.  To respect local residents, if you are collecting students by car please arrange to meet them away from Pullman Gardens and Hayward Gardens as the roads are very narrow and becoming easily congested.

Thank you in advance for your co-operation.

With best wishes

Year 13 Prom

Last week we partied at the Year 13 Graduation Ceremony and Prom. Each student received a Certificate and a Leaver’s T-shirt - encouraging them to remember their experiences at APA and the amazing teachers they had who helped them get through their exams.

We kicked off the evening by inviting the students and their parents to the theatre were we celebrated their achievements and success at school. Each student came and collected their certificate and took photos.

Later on that evening we went out into the main field area and took group photos with friends, family and teachers in order to cherish these moments. The Year 13’s continued the party at Roots and Shoots Venue in Central London.

It has been a tough final year, and each student has faced their own personal obstacles to overcome. We have applications outstanding for some high quality apprenticeship programmes and University places and some life-changing amounts of money by way of Bursaries through the charity – some up to £30,000. We believe our students have worked incredibly hard and persevered, and we are looking forward to seeing the fruits of their labour on results day on the 16th August.

Hopefully many more years to create memories……!
