Early closures for open evening on Monday 23rd September

9 September 2019

Dear parents/carers

Early closures for open evening on Monday 23rd September

On Monday 23 September we will be holding our Open Evening event.  To give staff an opportunity to prepare and get displays ready, we will be closing the school early on Friday 20 and Monday 23 September.

The school day will finish at 12.30pm on both days.

Students will be encouraged to leave the site immediately, although there will be a full lunch offer available on both days.  Free school meals allowances will be available.

If your child has been selected to help at the Open Evening on Monday 23 September please ensure you have completed and returned the permission slip to the relevant department.  The evening will finish at 8.00pm.

Finally, all students now leave from Pullman Gardens as the exit is larger.  To respect local residents, if you are collecting students by car please arrange to meet them away from Pullman Gardens and Hayward Gardens as the roads are very narrow and becoming easily congested.

Thank you in advance for your co-operation.

With best wishes

The Kid Who Would Be King

Last summer, Ark Putney Academy opened it's doors to Hollywood royalty.

Director Joe Cornish, of 'Attack the Block' fame shot the soon to be released 'The Kid Who Would Be King' at the school. This promises to be a high-octane british fantasy film about a young boy who stumbles upon the mythical sword Excalibur. He soon joins forces with a band of knights and the legendary wizard Merlin when the wicked enchantress Morgana threatens the future of mankind. If you look closely, the film is littered with APA students making their theatrical debut as extras, and the trailer features Ms White's office!

Make sure you make it down to cinemas from February 15th 2019 when the film is released in the UK!
