Women In The Built Environment: Breakfast Morning

Thursday 12 July 2018

Roughly only 12% of women make up the workforce in the Built Environment.

Last week APA set out on a mission to dispel the stereotypes gender and talked about the accessibility for women into careers within this sector.

We recently organised a Breakfast Morning at school, inviting amazingly talented and inspiring women to come and have a chat with our students about what they do.

This was a girls only event - with students from Year 7 to Year 13 taking part. Students were invited to interview our female volunteers who came from a wide range of roles including Sustainability, Project Management, Design, Quantity Surveying, Site Management and Urban Planning representing companies such as Berkeley Group/ St William, Multiplex and UCL University - giving us some much need academic context.

Big shout out to Cooking Club who laid on our breakfast of beautiful pastries and fruit kebabs.
