Year 6 into Year 7 Induction day
Monday 20 June 2016
Congratulations and welcome to all of the Year 6 pupils who have been offered a place at Ark Putney Academy for this September. We are really looking forward to meeting you all!
This Wednesday will be your first opportunity to meet some of your teachers and get a feel for the academy and our community.
The day will start with some introduction activities and an assembly where we will talk a bit about life at the academy and the kind of behaviour and attitude we expect from our students. You'll also find out which of our Houses you're in and meet your House Captain. - We encourage all of our students to take part as much as possible in House competitions and activities as they are a vital part of our school culture. They're also a great way to mix with students outside of your form or year group.
After this you will have your first taste of Secondary School lessons, with each group attending a different subject.
Just before lunch we will hold a question and answer session with some teachers you'll get to know well when you start in September. You may already have had your interview with Miss Cameron, joining her in the hot seats will be Ms White our Vice Principal and Mr McInerney our Assistant Head responsible for Community and Ethos as well as some of our current Year 7 students. This is your opportunity to find out all the things you want to know about the academy before you start officially after the summer. - So get thinking!
After lunch in the canteen you will have some more taster lessons and then a final assembly in the hall after which you will be dismissed.
