Year 9 First Give Awards
Monday 21 May 2018
On Thursday 26th April the year 9 First Give class winners took part in the school final in the theatre. They selected charities that they felt passionate based on social issues in our local area and researched what they did to support people less fortunate than us. They met with charity leaders to gain a better insight into the work they do and get a better understanding of what they could do to support these groups.
The eventual winners were the group that worked with CARAS who are a community outreach charity based in Tooting who support people of refugee and asylum-seeking background in South-West London. The group did a fantastic presentation led by a very mature and assured Sophia Enoyoze involving a role play about a story they remember from when their charity came to visit the school. They also successfully raised money for the charity by conducting an international bake sale. All the groups added their own individual touch to the presentations including a rap from Alex Gallimore in support of his class charity Mind.
All the students involved did superbly and represented their form and the APA community proudly. Well done to the following students who took part Alex Gallimore, Laura Ifayomi, Sophia Enoyoze, Zhane Hurdle, Rand El-Sebli, Cheyanne Francis, Aswan Taylor, Deeqa Osman, Andria Kamil, Asifa Ahmed and Mayan Alsasa Saleh.
Congratulations to all that took part!
