What is Professional Pathways?

Professional Pathways is a sixth form programme offered exclusively at Ark Schools.

The course is a high quality, vocational alternative to A-levels, ensuring students develop the skills they need to succeed at university and throughout their careers.

Equivalent to 3 A Levels

Professional Pathway students complete a level 3 qualification (equivalent to A levels). These qualifications are assessed through both exams and coursework. Many students prefer this style of assessment (compared to exam based A levels) and achieve higher grades as a result. In 2019,  79% of Professional Pathways students achieved DDM+ (equivalent A*-C at A level). Students can choose to study one of the following (click on each subject to find out more): Applied Science, Business, IT or Sport and Exercise Science. In some schools you may also have the opportunity to continue working towards your GCSEs as part of the programme as part of the Professional Pathways Foundation Year.
