Unifrog

Unifrog is an online platform available to all students in Years 7 to 13. It enables students to explore how their individual interests can lead to different education and training pathways. Students can learn about what steps need to be ticked off to stand the best chance of application success, be it for apprenticeships, universities, and even international universities. Students also have access to online learning modules accredited by universities to help them stand out from the crowd in the competitive field of applications.

This means that when it comes to Year 9 for GCSE options, Year 11 for Post 16 choices, T-Levels, HTQs or apprenticeships, and Year 13 for Higher or Further Education or apprenticeships, students have all the necessary supporting evidence for their applications and references.

Teachers and parents have access to student Unifrog accounts which helps them to monitor and evaluate student engagement and progress, observe particular trends in subject or careers interests, track application progress (including references, personal statements, predicted grades, etc.) and access excellent careers news and resources.

Parent engagement on Unifrog

Parent engagement on Unifrog is an effective way to involve parents in the careers conversation from Key Stage 3 onwards. Advice on different education routes, including technical education, T levels and Post 16 choices on Unifrog are useful for parent meetings and conversations.

Parents can also use the platform to monitor their children’s activities and engage with the same tasks. Once student logins are set up by the school, parents receive a Unifrog email code for login to activate their profiles and begin their own Unifrog journeys.

To learn more about parent logins for Unifrog, please contact the school’s careers leader.

LinkedIn alumni network

The LinkedIn Ark Alumni network is a platform designed to create a safe, supportive community for those who previously attended an Ark school. Here, Ark students can connect with former Ark students and access exclusive coaching and network opportunities. We aim to help alumni to grow their networks and contribute to their professional development through exclusive careers support and opportunities.

Ark Apprentice Ambassador Network

The Ark Apprentice Ambassador Network is dedicated to supporting Ark students to access aspirational apprenticeships through supportive coaching, network opportunities and application skills. Working with current and former students, apprenticeship candidates can use the LinkedIn platform to engage with employability skills, application readiness tips and tricks, professional networking opportunities and gain insight into a range of apprenticeship insight and work experience sessions with leading companies around the UK.

Talking Futures

Talking Futures is a parent toolkit for career conversations. When it comes to education and careers, parents, carers and guardians are the biggest influence in young peoples’ lives. Talking Futures is a resource created to help you have informed and constructive conversations with your child about the different training and education pathways available to them.

It’s good to know all the options available from aged 16, whether your child is just discovering their favourite subjects, getting ready to make their GCSE choices, or well on the way to completing this stage of study. The more information your child has on what they can do next, through ongoing conversations, the easier big decisions at the key milestones will be.
