Why do we learn physical education?
Physical education is so much more than developing physical skills and competence in a series of sports. It can develop life skills and wellbeing. We want to have students who excel in physical education and sport, providing opportunities for them to compete, build character and help to embed values such as resilience, commitment, fairness and respect.
We believe that our curriculum can inspire students to succeed in physical activity and sport, acquiring the knowledge and skills to be physically active and healthy for life in the 21st century’.

Our approach
What drives the curriculum is students having the practical skills to be able to succeed in sport or physical activity they are participating in. By the end of KS3 we want students to understand what makes a performance effective and how to apply these principles to their work. They should develop the confidence and interest to get involved in exercise, sports and activities out of school, and understand and apply the long-term health benefits of physical activity.
