Why do we learn sociology?
‘Sociology is to reveal that which is hidden’ (Bourdieu). To build a world which is tolerant, equal, and just, we must learn to identify intolerance, inequality and injustice. The sociology curriculum at Ark Putney Academy aims to encourage students to be curious about the world and seek to unpack the way institutions are structured and the impact these structures can have on their lives and communities they are part of.
